Scroll down to see more pictures of this dog. Blake is available for adoption. He is 1 year old and weighs 10 pounds. His adoption fee is $900.00. Blake is new to the rescue and will need to be neutered before joining his forever family. We have only known him a short time and are still discovering his personality. We can tell you that he is adorable-look at those ears! He loves other dogs and looks to them for companionship so he will need a furry brother or sister in his forever home. He likes cats too! Blake is a little slow to trust humans but he is gaining confidence and would benefit from an owner with yorkie experience. Blake also loves a fenced yard! A fenced yard is on his forever home “must have” list. More information to come as we get to know this little guy! Blake is approximately 1 year old and 10 pounds. Blake is staying with Susan and Steve in Ulysses, PA.

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
