Description
Dog Breed: Rottweiler. Adoption Fee: 550. Meet Dotti the Rottie! ❤️ Meet Dotti, a fabulous 3-year-old Rottweiler who is ready to leave her past behind and find the family she deserves. Dotti was found as a stray wandering the streets of Massachusetts, but you’d never know it from her manners! This beautiful girl is housebroken, intelligent, and knows an impressive list of commands. Ask her to sit, give paw, lie down, or roll over, and she’ll happily show off her skills—especially when praise and affection are her reward! Dotti has that wonderful, classic Rottweiler personality: confident, loyal, intelligent, affectionate, and naturally protective. Once she bonds with her person, she bonds deeply. Her current caretaker describes her as a true “Velcro dog.” She loves sitting at your feet and leaning her whole body against you, just to make sure you’re still right there beside her. With people she knows, Dotti is incredibly affectionate and devoted. With strangers, she can initially be reserved and will bark to let you know someone unfamiliar has arrived. Once she understands that everything is okay, she settles. Her loyalty and natural guarding instincts are part of what makes her such a wonderful Rottweiler. Dotti has also shown promise with other dogs. She has met small dogs in a controlled environment—even some vocal little ones—and remained calm and unbothered. With larger dogs, proper introductions are important, but once everyone is comfortable, Dotti is ready to play! Dotti is looking for a home that understands and appreciates the Rottweiler breed. She will thrive with someone who can provide consistent guidance, continued socialization, structure, and plenty of affection. Because she is a strong, powerful dog with natural protective instincts, she needs an adopter who will respect those qualities while helping her continue to be the confident, well-mannered girl she already is. If you're looking for a dog who will be your loyal companion, devoted sidekick, and very own Rottie-shaped shadow, Dotti may just be your girl. Dotti is ready to stop wandering and finally find the place—and the people—she can call home. ❤️ Apply on our web site: 4theloveofdog/adopt.html

Overview:
The Rottweiler is a powerful and intelligent breed, originating in Germany where they were primarily used to drive cattle and guard property. Physically, they are robust dogs, instantly recognizable by their medium-large size, strong build, and striking black coat with distinct tan markings, particularly on the muzzle, chest, and legs. Their temperament, when properly socialized and trained, is one of unwavering loyalty and confidence; they are known for being calm and courageous, making them excellent guardians. While generally good with children within their own family, their protective instincts mean they require supervision with strangers. Due to their size and need for regular exercise and mental stimulation, Rottweilers are generally not ideal for apartment living and thrive in homes with secure yards. Health-wise, they can be predisposed to conditions such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as certain heart conditions, necessitating responsible breeding practices and regular veterinary check-ups.
