Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed. Roxie is a sweet 2 year old mix breed who was surrendered to us at no fault of her own. In her previous home she had children who loved her very much and didn't want to give her up. Roxie has also lived with cats and dogs in the past! Roxie knows how to sit, down and come. She enjoys playing with stuffed toys and will open them up and take out all of the stuffing. She also loves to play fetch! Roxie is also potty trained! She would make a great addition to any home and family. She is shy of some men but with a little time will warm up. Come out and meet Moxie and see if she could be a perfect addition to your new family.Give the shelter a call at (574) 267-3008 or email them at infoawlwarsaw if you have any questions about me! If not, stop by the shelter at 1048 S 325 E in Pierceton, IN 46562 to look at me! No appointments necessary!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
