Description
Dog Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff (short coat). #A5792460 Meet Everest , a 1-year-old Cane Corso girl with the most stunning Italian mastiff good looks, from her luxurious grey coat and soulful eyes to those irresistibly smooshable jowls! This sweet girl has clearly not had the easiest start, and her protruding spine and hip bones show just how much TLC she needs - but with proper care, nutrition, and love, we believe she can blossom into the magnificent companion she was meant to be. Despite her size, Everest is likely to be a giant cuddlebug once she’s healthy, happily snuggling close like your very own living, breathing weighted blanket (or curling up at your feet if you prefer!). She recently had surgery to correct a cherry eye and is healing beautifully, so she’s already on her way toward a brighter chapter. Everest has so much potential waiting beneath the surface, and all she needs is someone willing to invest the time, care, and love to help her thrive. Will you be the one to unlock this gentle giant’s potential and show her just how wonderful life can be? -1 year 1 month old grey Cane Corso -75 pound spayed female -up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today! Did have cherry eye, but already had surgery to repair it and is healing beautifully! May also need regular ear cleaning to keep her healthy - she has adorable floppy ears, but they can trap moisture and dirt and get itchy (you’ll see her shaking her head more when it’s time to clean again!) -came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 7/30/26 as a stray -big beautiful girl that wants nothing more to snuggle close and share all her loving with you -given her young age, could benefit from all the puppy basics, like leash work, basic manners/commands, potty training, and continued socialization with other people and pups -needs some extra TLC and yummy meals and treats to help her get up in weight and shine like the star she is deep down! Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
