Description

Dog Breed: Havanese. Adoption Fee: 450.00. PLEASE go to our website .collarofhope to read all information about our puppies, rescue, adoption process and to submit our adoption application. All of our information does not transfer to the adoption sites. Before completing our adoption application, please consider the following: Is someone home to raise and train a puppy? Do you have a securely fenced yard for the puppy? Can you give a puppy a 15ish year commitment? This litter was born in our rescue the day we received their Mama. If you apply for one of these puppies, note who your groomer is on the application as they'll need regular professional grooming their whole lives. We do not want them in the horrible shape their Mom was in when she arrived nor the majority of the hair dogs we receive. Families with young children in the home will not be considered. About these babies. They are the sweetest and very social. They are loving running and exploring now. They are so fluffy that they've already started getting their pads shaved and sanitary clips done. Their Mama is a Havanese and we suspect (cannot guarantee) their Papa was a shih tzu (a male shih tzu was also taken from the place with the same coloring) and their tales curl over their backs. Puppies that are not old enough to have received all 3 puppy DHPP vaccines will not be adopted to anyone in apartment or condo residents as they are not protected against parvo or distemper until they've received all 3 vaccines. Our puppies are or will be neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated age appropriate (they will need additional vaccines), de-wormed and parasite treated/prevented throughout their time with CoH as a foster puppy. Vaccine Protocol is as follows: DHPP series of 3 are needed and puppies are not protected against parvo or distemper until they're received ALL 3 vaccines. Rabies 6 months of age

A.K.A.: Havana Silk Dog, Bichon Havanese, Bichon Havanais, Havie, Cuban lapdog, Cuban Havanese, Perro de la Habana, Habenero, Havaneser, Havanese Poodle, Havanese Spaniel, Hav, Perro Bichon, Small dog from Havana, Havana Terrier
Overview:

The Havanese, the national dog of Cuba, is a charming and intelligent toy breed known for its cheerful disposition and luxurious coat. Descending from the Bichon family, these small but sturdy dogs were brought to Cuba by Spanish colonists and developed into the affectionate companions we know today. Physically, they boast a distinctive long, silky double coat that can come in a multitude of colors and patterns, often requiring regular grooming to prevent matting. With their expressive dark eyes and plumed tail carried over their back, Havanese possess a captivating charm. Temperamentally, they are renowned for being outgoing, affectionate, and highly trainable, thriving on human companionship. This makes them excellent family pets and well-suited for apartment living, as they are adaptable and don't require extensive outdoor space. While generally healthy, potential owners should be aware of breed-specific concerns such as luxating patellas and eye conditions like cataracts, making responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups essential for their long-term well-being.
