Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Spot! This adorable lab/shepherd mix is about 12 weeks old and sweet as can be. He gets along with other dogs and is very friendly. He is doing great with leash training, crate training, and potty training. He is a bouncy puppy with lots of energy. He is still very young and will need an adopter to help guide and support him as he grows to make sure he becomes a happy and confident adult dog! Spot has received his first vaccines and microchip, and will be neutered as part of his adoption agreement when he is between 8-12 months (this is not optional). His adoption fee is $525. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. Thank you for stepping up to save a life! A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
