Description
Dog Breed: Chinese Shar-Pei / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Ms. Redd, the Chinese Sharpei mix. Ms. Redd came into the Shelter as a stray so we donât know much about her past. She is a petite, vibrant Sharpei mix who has enjoyed socializing with people since her arrival. She can be nervous in new situations but with time and patience, gets more comfortable. Ms. Redd has met other dogs and has been curious but keeps a respectful distance. Any resident dogs should meet in the Shelter prior to adoption. Due to some prey drive observed, a home free of small animals (cats, rabbits) would be best. Ms. Redd has been showing signs that she may be potty trained but adopters should let her out frequently and reward her for going potty in the right place. Ms. Redd would thrive with an adopter who will bond with her through positive reinforcement based training. Ms. Redd is available for pre-adoption. Come meet her, fall in love and take her home after her spay surgery. Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
