Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Meet Chiquta, a sweet 2-year-old female Pit Bull with a gentle and shy nature. Though she may be a little hesitant at first, Chiquta is a loving companion who allows affection once she feels comfortable. She is excellent on a leash, knows basic commands well, and comes when called, making her a great candidate for continued training and bonding. Chiquta is also impressively potty trained, showing she is ready for a home environment that values structure and care. While she may need some time to warm up to new people, her adaptable energy level means she can adjust well to different living situations with patience and kindness. Ideal for a calm and understanding adopter who can provide a safe, nurturing space for her to build confidence, Chiquta is looking for a patient family or individual ready to help her blossom into the loving companion she is meant to be. If youâre seeking a loyal friend who will reward your patience with affection, Chiquta might just be the perfect match! Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
