Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Meet August! There may be nothing better than August... unless it's August with four stubby little legs and a scruffy terrier face. August is part of our Eras Litter, seven ridiculously adorable puppies born July 18th to our sweet mama Taylor (TayTay). And just like the rest of this little tour crew, August came equipped with short little legs, wiry fur, and an unreasonable amount of cuteness. We believe these babies are terrier mixes, possibly with some Dachshund mixed in, which would certainly explain those wonderfully stubby legs. A few even inherited Mama's fabulous little underbite. The Eras Litter can go home at 8 weeks old, but applications are OPEN NOW! Meet and greets can begin once they receive their first vaccines at 6 weeks. Ready to make August part of your era? Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
