Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Available for Adoption! Meet Phineas! Phineas is a sweet and quiet boy who was rescued from a hoarding situation. He is affectionate, gentle, easy going and adorable. Phineas smiles and will show you his pearly white teeth in doing so. He is very friendly with everyone he meets and is quite the cuddle bug. He is fun, funny and full of personality. Well mannered, obedient, aims to please and will be an amazing addition to any family! Phineas needs a home with a yard where he can run, play and would enjoy a fur sibling to share life with. He is crate trained, mostly potty trained, great with kids and all dogs. Unsure about cats however with a proper introduction he should do well. He has had 2 vet visits, is spayed/neutered, Microchipped, UTD on all vaccinations, had a 4 DX test (testing for Lyme disease and two types of tick-borne illnesses), flea/tick/heartworm prevention (Nexgard Plus), 2 dewormings, and a 1 fecal test. Adopters will receive all original paperwork, a 14-day health guarantee, a collar, harness, leash, seatbelt lock, and a week's worth of food. We operate on a first-come, first-served basis and are by appointment only. We are located in Mesa, AZ., near Gilbert/Brown & offer flexible hours 7 days a week. Private message if interested!

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
