Description
Dog Breed: Siberian Husky (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 385.00. Shiloh is around a year old and weighs about 40 pounds of typical husky energy, charm, and fun. She is adventurous, affectionate, confident, cuddly, curious, enthusiastic, playful, and smart, making her a whole lot of dog in one adorable package. Shiloh loves all dogs and enjoys playing with her friends just as much as she enjoys flopping down with a good bone. She is house trained and crate trained, gets along with children of all ages, and has not shown any interest in escaping the yard. Cats are still unknown, and Shiloh takes her toy-destroying duties very seriously. Toys that aren’t built for husky-level fun may quickly become de-stuffed, so she’ll need a home that can keep her stocked with plenty of durable, dog-appropriate toys. Shiloh is incredibly lovable and happiest when she’s close to her people. With plenty of socialization, she could possibly be an only dog, but she would also be thrilled to have a canine companion. If you’re looking for a sweet, energetic, playful, and very cuddly sidekick, Shiloh might just be your girl.

Overview:
The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
