Here is everything we can share about Milly and updated as of 8/25/26 Milly is a rescue pup from the streets of Ensenada. She was rescued along with her 2 siblings Melly and Morgan. Already adopted. Milly is the last standing and has been fostered in San Diego at casa de ARWOB since early July. The pups came in attached to each other meaning they seeked each other out for comfort and hesitant when new dogs at arwob would approach *the typical yappy nippy approach when young pups are scared of NEW exposures* it took them 3 days to be comfortable and open up to the rest of the crew and became fast friends. From the get go the pups are very people socialy, Melly and Morgan where the 'alpha' mostly the brave ones who were very people friendly and Milly would learn from their cues to approach their new foster mom. Now that they were adopted it allows Milly to grow into her own self since she needs to get her big girl pants on and be BRAVE on new situations. Milly is adorable, under 17lbs and unlikely she will be bigger than 25 pounds and we think she probably will only hit 20lbs. She has a very sturdy body, long and stout and VERY active. She loves walks and hikes as well as running in mischief along with her besties (Carmi, Pickles, Sophie and Happy) all who are medium size large energy dogs. She can handle the big dogs no problem but adores also the smaller breeds energy to play without being trample over ha ha Milly started receiving interested the month of August, nothing in July weird enough. BUT now that has we have to say we are looking for an experienced dog owner or someone who will take dog ownership serious with dog socialization and training. If you want an easy dog, Milly is NOT it. She is an amazing house dog ei house trained, crate trained, and potty trained. She LOVES car rides and does well on walks. She is VERY people, dog and cat friendly BUT outside of her home ei her foster and her fellow foster siblings (dogs and cats alike) she is very intimidated and 'scared' she needs slow and STEADY. We can say she will probably not show love or interest in you when she meets you on or off leash, if you have a resident dog or are looking for a dog friendly dog, Milly is definitely that BUT will not show it as her go to reaction will be scared, not trying to approach the other dog and likely try to scare the other dog away by slight potential nip (she will act or look like she is doing it but she won't) and also bark at the dog if she is scared. Basically will try to back away and will bark if scared enough. For this reason, dog parks are not fun for her, YET. Dogs coming at her is not the way to go. We will be trying a ONLY small dog park during off hours to try a small number of dogs and smaller or her size to see how she does with that FIRST before trying a normal dog park where a negative reaction/experience can occur with lage high energy dogs approach ei run at you! She loves her friends but we need a potential adopter or foster (even better a foster to adopt trial so you can work with her while you see if you'd like to adopt her, a win/win for her since she gets to have the one on one exposure to help her improve while her forever family find her) Puppy dog training, dailly walks, exposure to other dogs in a control setting are KEY for her to get away from this puppy 'under socialized" personality which she is not but she needs more experience/exposure to NEW things. Summary - if you submit an application to adopt or foster this cutie do know the meet and greet will NOT be a fireworks type meet. As Millys foster mom I can tell you she is very loving, she loves to be picked up and adored on, she knows how to sit for her treats, she is a terrier for sure as she LOVES to hoard her toys either in the dog bed or dog cot in the yard, loves to sun bathe, play with dog friends, she is very submissive but also up for any type of play and sleeps in her crate every night 8-9hrs no problem. During the day she has short stints of 1-2hr naps here and there, especially if she gets her peabut butter kong in there before a nap time during day light. She is not a barky dog BUT absolutely will become one (easily) if the adopter or foster allows it ei when she barks you stop it she learns and doesn't do it in MY home that is not to say she won't in someone elses home as this is a HUGE trait for small breed dogs, milly or not.
