Description
Dog Breed: Boxer (short coat). Just when you thought you’ve seen all the cuteness possible… Emiko enters the scene and steals the show! Emiko is 3 years old, and is making her way into rescue because she isn’t getting along with her boxer sister. She is beyond loved in her current home which is why they want to make the best decision for their girl. She’s housebroken, crate trained, knows basic obedience, walks nicely on leash and rides well in the car. She’s good with all people, but has not been around small children or cats. Emiko just wants to have fun, fun, fun and has lots of great energy! We a will be placing her as an only dog. If you’re interested in adopting, please click on the link below. Breed overview
Boxer
A.K.A.: Deutscher Boxer, German Boxer, Dutch Boxer, Boxer dog, Boxy, Boxerman
Overview:
The Boxer is a medium-sized, short-haired dog breed of German origin, known for its distinctive appearance and vibrant personality. Physically, Boxers possess a strong, athletic build with a characteristic square head, an undershot jaw, and often a docked tail and cropped ears (though these practices are becoming less common). Their short, glossy coat typically comes in fawn or brindle, often with white markings. Temperamentally, Boxers are renowned for being incredibly loyal, intelligent, and energetic, making them fantastic companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and can be playful and patient with children, making them excellent family pets. While their energy levels require regular exercise, their adaptability means they can adjust to apartment living if their activity needs are consistently met. However, potential owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to some cancers, heart conditions like cardiomyopathy, and hip dysplasia, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
