Sometimes, the hardest part of rescue is watching a dog get caught in the middle of circumstances completely outside of their control.Lola is a 4-month-old Chihuahua heeler mix puppy who, unfortunately, has been returned after only a couple of weeks in her adoptive home. We were initially contacted and told that one member of the family wasn't receiving the support they expected from another when it came to Lola's care and training. They felt Lola deserved a home with someone who had more time for her. However, the other family member later expressed that they didn't understand the decision to return her at all. So, do we know the real reason Lola is back? Unfortunately, no. What we DO know is that Lola did absolutely nothing wrong. She was simply caught in the middle of a situation she couldn't control. Adding to our frustration, Lola was also returned without receiving her final vaccine booster that was due while she was adopted. This is incredibly disappointing. Every adopter receives an overview sheet clearly showing what their new dog's medical needs are and exactly when they're due. We also purposely go over that information at adoption so there is no confusion and, most importantly, nothing gets missed. Those boosters aren't suggestions. They're an important part of keeping a puppy healthy and protected. But Lola is back with us now, and we're grateful for that. ❤️ We'll get her vaccines back up to date, give her all the love she deserves, and start looking for the family who is ready to make the commitment to her for the long haul. Lola deserves the home she should have had the first time. Welcome back, sweet girl. Your forever is still out there Lola LOVES giving kisses to anyone and everyone she meets-kids included.
