Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Simba is the perfect representation of a loving pit. He is so calm and sweet, loving attention from all of us here at the guild and he’s never barked at another dog even once. He always wants to be by someone's side and loves to go for his walks which he does very nicely with on leash! He is such a polite gentleman with his big handsome face and wiggly butt. He is honestly an incredible well rounded boy that anybody would be lucky to have. We think he will be very popular so come meet him before you miss out! The dogs are in fact living in a kennel environment during their time with us. Even if they have previously lived in a home and been trained - the stress of the change and the new home can sometimes cause regression and require some additional training. All animals come spayed/neutered, UTD on vaccines, and microchipped. If the animals age or health prevents any of these from being completed prior to adoption a voucher is issued for the services to be performed. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
