Description
Dog Breed: Poodle (Miniature). Adoption Fee: 515. MEET TWYLA! This beautiful little miniature poodle girl is ready to find the forever family she deserves! ❤️ Twyla Approximately 6 years old ⚖️ 9.5 pounds Beautiful café-au-lait coat Twyla was rescued from a hoarding situation where she and several other dogs had been neglected. She had to be shaved short when she came into rescue, but we cannot wait to watch her beautiful coat grow back and see her get the adorable poodle haircut she deserves! ✂️ She is named after the dancer because of her long-legged, elegant dancer’s build —and she definitely lives up to her name! When she gets excited, she loves to dance around on her back feet. Twyla is emerging as such a sweet, loving, and loyal little girl. She wants to go wherever her people go and would love nothing more than to be your little shadow and best friend. ❤️ She LOVES chasing balls and little squeaky toys! She enjoys other dogs Fully house trained Sleeps soundly at night ‍♀️ Learning to walk on leash ❤️ Loves being petted and cuddled Mostly calm and happy to nap nearby Working on socialization and building confidence Meeting new people can still make Twyla nervous, so her foster family is working with her every day on socialization and helping her learn that new people and new experiences are safe. She is perfectly happy at home while her people are at work and is SO excited when they come home. ❤️ Twyla is up to date on her vaccines, in good health, and will be spayed prior to adoption. And then there’s her best friend… Ophelia. Twyla and Ophelia came into rescue together, and they have formed a very sweet bond. While we are absolutely open to adopting them separately if the right homes come along, we would LOVE to see these two girls adopted together if possible. They truly are a precious little pair. ❤️ Ophelia is about 8 years old and also weighs 9.5 pounds. She has a beautiful silvery-beige coat and, despite being mostly blind due to juvenile cataracts, she is incredibly brave and well adapted. Together, these girls are happy, playful, snuggly little sweethearts who are learning what it feels like to finally be safe and loved. ❤️ Twyla has already mastered the most important thing… Being an absolute cutie pie! Overview:
The Miniature Poodle, a charming and intelligent companion, originated in Germany as a water retriever before being refined in France. They are renowned for their elegant appearance, characterized by a distinctive curly coat (often requiring regular grooming to prevent matting), long muzzle, and expressive dark eyes. Standing typically between 10 to 15 inches tall and weighing 10 to 15 pounds, they are a compact yet sturdy breed. Temperamentally, Miniature Poodles are known for their high intelligence, making them highly trainable and eager to please. They are generally lively, affectionate, and can be quite playful, thriving on interaction with their families. Their adaptable nature makes them well-suited for apartment living, provided they receive adequate daily exercise and mental stimulation. They are often excellent with children and other pets when properly socialized. While generally healthy, potential owners should be aware of breed-specific concerns such as progressive retinal atrophy, luxating patella, and Addison's disease. With their captivating looks and bright minds, the Miniature Poodle makes a delightful and devoted family member.
