Name: Jaxx. Age: 6mo. Breed: Heeler mix. Gender: Male. Weight: 32 lbs. Jaxx was found with a leg injury and unfortunately had to have it removed. Despite being a tripod, he certainly doesn't think that makes him any different. He has learned to navigate perfectly well. Training and Manners: House trained: Working hard and doing well. Crate trained: Yes. Social Skills: Very sweet. Dog Friendly: Yes, but prefers dogs that won't rough house with him. Cat Friendly: Unknown. Personality Jaxx is extremely sweet, eager to please and not high energy. He makes the perfect cuddle bug with a bit of puppy enthusiasm. Having three legs doesn't mean having a smaller life. Jaxx is ready for some adventures, exploring and a family to call his very own. Ideal Home: Jaxx is not looking for sympathy - just looking for love and a family who will see the amazing dog he truly is. He is content to go where you go and hang out in the yard playing with his toys. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
