Dog Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff (medium coat). Hello everyone, my name is Willow! I am a big, beautiful girl with a lot of energy who LOVES water! I am always on the go and looking for ways to have fun. I require a special home so please read all the information about me below: ⢠I was part of a cruelty case from 2025. ⢠I will NOT be a first come, first serve adoption. My potential adopter(s) will be required to meet me at least a couple of times before I will go home with them. ⢠I have been on behavior medications for the last 9 months to help me cope in the shelter. I will need to continue medication after being adopted. Due to this I am required to go home with an adopter(s) who has an established veterinarian. ⢠I am a BIG girl (over 80 pounds!) and donât realize my size and like to fling my body around into people, dogs, furniture, etc. ⢠I need to go to a home with kids who are at least teenage years and older. ⢠I do well with other dogs but can be a pretty rough player. I will need a dog that can put up with my full body contact play. Sometimes I need help managing my play because I get too excited and donât know when to take a break. ⢠Due to my play style and drive I will not be sent home with another small dog or cats. ⢠Be prepared to have an extensive conversation about your dogâs play style. Dog interactions with Willow will be based off this information to provide the best and safest experience for all dogs. If you are interested in meeting me, please come in to talk to an adoption counselor to see if I may be a good fit. If you have any dogs in the home, please bring them along as well to determine if we would be good friends. FWACC reserves the right to place me in the best fit home. Due to the extensive history and familiarity with this dog the screening process for this dog is more thorough. Thank you for your kindness and understanding.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
