Description
Dog Breed: Border Collie / Labrador Retriever / Mixed. We do not have a facility for you to visit. You are welcome to email ccrcdogsccrcdogs with specific questions, but please complete the online application, which can be found at .ccrcdogs, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10-day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fees are listed on our website and cover the cost of the spay/neuter, age-appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. Most dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers so there is often very little known about their history or current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC has a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, and we have trainers who will offer free phone/email support.

Their coat can vary widely in color and texture, from short and dense to medium-length and feathery, usually requiring moderate grooming. Temperamentally, they are known for being loyal, energetic, and highly trainable, making them excellent companions for active families. They thrive in environments where they receive plenty of physical and mental stimulation, making them less suitable for small apartment living unless daily exercise is guaranteed. While generally healthy, potential owners should be aware of predispositions to conditions seen in their parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia or certain eye conditions, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding practices.
