Description
Dog Breed: Great Pyrenees / Australian Shepherd / Mixed (long coat). Check out our Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for more pictures & videos of our adoptable dogs! Updated: 9/10/2026 Dog Name: Kami Sex: Female Estimated Breed: Great Pyrenees/Aussie Mix Approximate Age: 1 year and 10 months Approximate Weight: 49 lbs Spay/Neuter Status: Spayed Description: Kami is a fun loving girl who is always ready for her next adventure! Whether she’s chasing bubbles, playing a game of fetch or tug of war, going for a long walk/run, or soaking up attention from her people, Kami loves to be part of the action. And when playtime is over she is more than happy to curl up with her people for some cuddles. Kami is being surrendered due to her energy level, and is looking for a family who is ready to commit to her training and help her become the very best dog she can be! She is still young and learning, so she is working on things like not jumping when she gets excited and walking without pulling on the leash. Although don’t be fooled, Kami already knows sit, stay, and heel, is fully housebroken, is crate trained, and is good with other dogs! She is good with kids, although because of her excitement and playful energy, she may be a little much for very small children. Her enthusiasm is all about wanting to play and be involved, not aggression. A family who can help her learn appropriate ways to show her excitement would be wonderful for her. Kami is also okay with cats and may give them a curious sniff to say hello, but she is happy to coexist. Most of all, Kami loves attention, affection, and being with her people. She is looking for a family who will give her the exercise, structure, patience, training, and love she needs to thrive. If you’re looking for an active, affectionate companion who is ready to have lots of fun along the way, Kami might just be your girl! Adoption Fee: $450 We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433 ***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time, we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians. Our Weight Classes are as follows: 0- 25lbs - Small 26- 45lbs - Medium 46-89 - Large 90+ X-large If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs once they're at least 6 months old. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months, they will need to be spayed/neutered by your veterinarian when they are between 6 to 8 months old. Proof that the spay/neuter has been completed will need to be submitted to Tailwaggers911. Once proof of the spay/neuter has been received, we will refund $100 of your adoption fee via Venmo, PayPal or have a check in the mail within 15 days. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as ADOPTION IN PROCESS, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Aussie Pyrenees is a striking hybrid that combines the herding instincts of the Australian Shepherd with the guardian nature of the Great Pyrenees. Originating as a designer mix, this breed is known for its large size, often weighing between 50–110 pounds, with a thick double coat that can come in a variety of colors including white, cream, brindle, and tri-color. Their temperament blends loyalty, intelligence, and protectiveness, making them devoted family companions who thrive in active households. While affectionate and gentle with children, they can be wary of strangers, so early socialization is important. Due to their size and energy, they are best suited for homes with spacious yards rather than apartments. With proper care, they enjoy a lifespan of 10–15 years, though owners should watch for potential health concerns such as hip dysplasia and joint issues common to large breeds.
