At four months old, I’m energetic, playful, curious, and oh-so-sweet. I love everyone I meet and I’m always ready to make a new friend—or give them a few puppy kisses! I’m a smart girl, too. I’m already crate trained and potty trained, and I’m eager to keep learning new things. I’m still growing and as a German Pinscher mix I will probably be 30-40 pounds when I’m all grown up. I absolutely love other dogs and especially enjoy playing with my brother, AJ. Having a furry friend around makes every adventure even more fun! Speaking of adventures, I’m pretty much always ready for one. Whether we’re exploring somewhere new, playing with my favorite people, or simply hanging out together, I’m happiest when I’m part of the family. I’m looking for a loving family who will keep me busy, help me learn and grow, and most importantly, love me for all the years to come. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
