Dog Breed: Italian Greyhound / Dachshund / Mixed. LOOKING FOR A PATIENT LOVING FAMILY: Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 11 lbs. Hi there, I'm Sparrow! I'm a little sweetie who found myself in need of a new home and thankfully, Mostly Mutts took me in, and my 2 foster families are helping me thrive! I arrived quite skinny but have put on several pounds now and am feeling and looking so good. You may notice in some of my pictures that I look thin, but those are pre-weight gain. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I do pretty well with the 2 small dogs in my foster home, though I'm working on resource guarding with them of laps, the couch, toys, etc. So, if you have dogs, let's meet and just know that we'll need to work on those things and the trainers at MM can give you some tips. I'd be very happy to be your only dog. / I'd do best in a home without kitties as I do want to chase them. / I haven't met kids in either of my foster homes and they think that kids would scare me as I do startle easily, so if you have much older calm and quiet natured kids, let's meet. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I'm a very sweet and affectionate girl who can be a flight risk when I'm initially scared or stressed, so I'll need a family who understands the importance of keeping me safe and secure as I settle in and continue building confidence. I'm already making wonderful progress and settling in beautifully in my shared foster homes! I follow them all around the house, and when I'm happy, I'll dance and wiggle with delight! I have good house manners and, when I'm feeling relaxed, I'll even ask permission to get on the couch. I love cuddling with my person, and a cozy blanket makes it even better! I'm SUPER sweet, want to please, and am becoming a wonderful companion. With love, patience, and reassurance, I'm sure I'll continue to blossom and show you just how much love I have to give! / Energy level: Now that I'm more comfortable in my foster homes, my energy level has increased to around 5-7. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm working on my resource guarding and the trainers at MM will be happy to help you with this. I'm also learning the 'leave it' and 'drop it' commands in my foster homes. Mostly Mutts offers free lifetime training classes for all their adopted dogs, so we can continue these classes together if you like. / I'm improving in my crate and cry just a little. I do best with the TV or radio playing. / I'm working on my potty manners and do best when I'm taken out on a good schedule. I may initially be afraid in a new yard, so use caution and keep me on a secure leash please. I may have been treated harshly for having accidents in the past as I sometimes try to get away from my person after going to the bathroom. Positive reinforcement and treat rewards along with praise should be used to help me in this area. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love affection, attention, and being close to my people! I've also recently discovered that toys are lots of fun. I enjoy playing fetch, doing a little catch and tug, and even entertaining myself by whipping my toys around—so cute! I can really sprint when I'm having fun, too. / I'm not a fan of being left alone, so a stay-at-home or work-from-home family would be wonderful! Like all dogs, I'm sure I wouldn't like it if I didn't get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I needed a good dental cleaning when I arrived and that has been completed for me, so my mouth is fresh again! Being part Italian Greyhound, I naturally have very thin legs so please protect them by not letting me jump off of things. If you're a patient and loving family that will treasure me, we could be a great match! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I'm located in Kennesaw, Ga.
