Dog Breed: Terrier / Terrier / Mixed. Our boy Chonks will keep you in stitches. He is hilarious and built like a stocky bowling ball and has the gumby playstyle where he constantly wiggles around and rolls over. Chonks is a terrier mix at around 10 months and weighing 57 pounds. He will grow a bit more but will remain a large-size dog which makes even more of him to love. He is a very good boy and is gentle with kids. He also has a good time playing and interacting with other dogs. Chonks will lay back and show his belly at pretty much every opportunity there is. Chonks has not had any experience with cats since coming into rescue so it is unknown how he would be interacting with a cat. We do know that he is a whole cast of characters wrapped up into one body. Do not count out snuggle sessions because Chonks will gladly join in on relaxing and much appreciated snuggling. His house, crate and leash training are all in progress. His is taking the necessary steps to move forward and practice every day. He will benefit from a patient owner and one that will continue his training so, when the training is over, Chonks will have all the bragging rights. A great boy like Chonks comes around once in a lifetime. He is sure to be the center of lots of stories, photos and lasting memories. The entertainment factor alone is enough to put him on the top of best canine companion list. * When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Chonks is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
