Brady – Black Male, 6 months old, 45 lbs. BRADY IS READY FOR HIS FOREVER HOME! Meet Brady, a 6-month-old black Lab boy with a heart of gold, a serious obsession with fetch, and one very important question: WHERE’S THE WATER?! Brady came to us from the shelter with a broken rear leg. Thanks to Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno, he got the surgery he needed and is healing beautifully. He does have a little limp that he will likely always have, but the good news is he is pain-free and doesn’t let that little limp slow him down one bit! Brady loves to fetch. He loves other dogs—big or small. He LOVES water and will find it whenever he can. He’s sweet and playful with kids and happy to hand out kisses. Cats are unknown. Leash walking? Well... when Brady decides he wants to! Personal space? Never heard of it. ❤️ Snuggling? Absolutely mandatory. Brady is your typical fun-loving Lab puppy who wants to be involved in EVERYTHING you’re doing. If you’re sitting down, he should be sitting on you. If you’re moving, he’s coming with you. And if there’s water nearby... well, forget it. Brady has places to be! He’s still growing into those big puppy paws, so jogging buddy status is on hold for now, but with time and continued healing, he’ll get stronger and stronger. What Brady really needs now is a family who will love his goofy, affectionate, water-loving personality and give him the forever home he deserves. If you’re looking for a happy, playful, affectionate Lab puppy who believes life is one big adventure, Brady just might be your boy! Ready to meet Brady? Please fill out an adoption application at .labrescuefresno and ask for Brady! Overview:
The Labrador Retriever, a beloved and highly popular breed, originated in Newfoundland, Canada, where they were initially bred to assist fishermen by retrieving nets and stray fish. Physically, they are medium-to-large dogs, known for their strong, athletic build, short, dense, weather-resistant double coat (commonly seen in black, yellow, or chocolate), and their distinctive "otter" tail. Temperamentally, Labs are celebrated for their friendly, outgoing, and good-natured disposition, making them exceptional family companions. Their intelligence and eagerness to please contribute to their trainability, though they do require consistent exercise to prevent boredom and destructive behaviors. While adaptable, their energy levels make them more suited to homes with yards, or highly active families, rather than apartment living, unless daily extensive exercise is guaranteed. Regarding health, Labs can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia, and some eye conditions, so responsible breeding practices are crucial. Overall, their loyalty, versatility, and affectionate nature firmly establish the Labrador Retriever as a wonderful addition to many households.
