Dog Breed: Black Labrador Retriever / Flat-coated Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). He was found as a stray in Miami. He is such a good boy! He is completely house trained, crate trained, and is eager to learn. We are working on his leash skills. His foster Dad takes him for daily runs, which he thoroughly enjoys! Arden is going to be a big boy! He already weighs 56 lbs. He loves to play with toys, chew on his bone and hang out with his humans. Arden is good with other dogs, he has not been cat tested. He would love a big fenced yard to run and play in. An active family would be an ideal match for him, he loves a good game of fetch! Arden is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. He is being fostered in Lake Worth Florida.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics.
