Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 300. Hi! My name is Humpty Hump and I am a 5 month old, male, terrier mix. I weigh about 15 lbs and don’t think I’ll get too much bigger. My absolute favorite place to be is in your lap. I love to snuggle up and nap the day away with my foster mom while she works from home. She tells everyone I am the BEST work from home pup ever! I have been working hard on potty training and am nearly perfect at it so far! I also sleep in my crate all night (9P to 6A) and whine when I need to go outside. I also have an A+ in car riding – I like to just lay down and chill (bonus points if you have a seat warmer). I get along very well with kids, other dogs and cats. My foster house has 2 kids (4 & 8 ) as well as 2 additional dogs (7 mos and 4 years) and a kitten that likes to jump on me, claw me and tease me – I don’t mind a bit! I also sit very still for bath time and nail trimmings! If you are looking for the perfect pup to snuggle you, love you and make you feel bountiful amounts of joy. I’m your guy. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
