PLEASE FILL THE ADOPTION APPLICATION AT lostangelsanimalrescue.org TO SEE IF YOU QUALIFY TO ADOPT TODD Todd is a 12 yr old male Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix per Polk County Animal Services, but might be younger. He was surrendered to Polk County Animal Services in a horrible condition by his owner who had mental issues. Todd was flea invested which made most of his hair fall out, very underweight. Todd can be very affection once he gets to know you. He is good with other dogs, loves to snuggle and have his belly rubbed, walks good on a leash and is somewhat house broken. His hair has all grown back and he has put on some weight too.Todd's fur is very silky and almost like rabbit fur. He does snore at times when he is asleep! Lots of love and patience with this little guy will make a wonderful companion. Would not do well with small children or cats. Todd is neutered, micro chipped, up to date on all vacs including rabies, tested negative for heart worm and is free of intestinal parasites. He is currently on heart worm and flea preventative. Todd's adoption donation is $150.00

More About Pomeranian Breed
If you’re looking to adopt a dog and don’t know where to start, puppyfinder.com is an excellent source for information about adopting a dog and will connect you with hundreds of shelters across the US that have adoptable puppies and older dogs waiting for forever homes.
  1. Do your research – find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle – before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you’re about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don’t have time for potty training and obedience classes you’ll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies – It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don’t be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet.
  4. Start looking… Once you know what you’re looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can’t get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.

Posted Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier (short coat). Please contact Kelly (lostangelsanimalrescue04@yahoo.com) for more information about this pet. I'm a sweet boy. Settling in to my perfect size, weighing in at 60 pounds and right around 1 1/2 year old. The only thing I crave right now is my own family to love. I am crate trained but would also like my own bed and a yard to play in. I am still a young puppy dog and I would need an active home that is willing to train me and help me with puppy manners. I am eager to please and a fast learner. I am currently going to Basic Training with Amy's Canine Kindergarten. My forever home would need to be committed to continuing to work with training me. I would do best in a home without small children, small dogs and cats! Another nice dog is fine with me as well. Benson has been DNA tested and this is his true breed! He also has graduated basic manners course. Please consider saving me and giving me the forever home that I so deserve. I am neutered, up to date on all my shots including rabies, heartworm tested (neg), microchipped, dewormed for intestinal parasites, currently on a heartworm and flea preventative. I come with one free vet visit. My adoption donation is $150.00. Posted Breed: American Bulldog / Mixed. Please contact Desiree (larescue@hotmail.com) for more information about this pet. Roman is an amazing 9 yr old white/brindle male ABD that weighs 70 lbs. Due to unfortunate circumstances and no fault to Roman, he found himself in a shelter in South Carolina. Within 38 hrs of notifying Lost Angels, his original foster mom boarded a plane in Tampa, landed in Atlanta and then made the nearly 3 hr drive to Aiken, SC to pick him up. Once reunited they were quickly back on the road for a 9 hr drive that would take him back to his foster mom's home in Tampa that he knew so well. His start with Lost Angels was when he was a young boy. He completed a highly successful level of obiedence training through Inghram's Sit 'N Stay Dog Academy where he was a star pupil. His trainers enjoyed working with him and said he was always very tentative and eager to please. Plans are to have him revisit the facility so that he can brush up on his commands to ensure that he is top notch and ready for a new home. He was previously neutered, all vaccines have been updated including Rabies and Bordetella, wormed for intestinal parasites and microchipped. He is heartworm negative and has been started on a monthly heartworm and flea preventative and his adoption comes with one free visit to a participating LAAR veterinarian. If you are interested in learning more about Roman.....please email his foster mom at larescue@hotmail.com or you can submit an online application at www.lostangelsanimalrescue.org. Posted Breed: Jack Russell Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Jax is an absolutely precious boy! He showed up in someones yard in horrific condition. Those nice people wanted to do the right thing for Jax and contacted the angels to swoop in and help him. Jax is 2 years old and the beginning of this little mans life I can only imagine. He came to us with his entire body having a skin infection and his front two legs were deformed simply, we believe, from malnutrition and poor care. The good news is, he is in a great foster home now getting the care and attention he deserves. His skin is night and day from what it was originally. A biopsy has confirmed that Jax has a genetic condition known as ichthyosis. Right now he gets special baths a few times per week and daily oral medication. His condition will likely need lifelong management. Jax is kennel trained and does good with the other dogs (big and small) and lives with one cat.  His Jack Russell personality is coming out as he starts to feel better and he likes to chase the other dogs and tries to boss them around. He LOVES food.  He LOVES toys and he LOVES attention!  This spunky little boy is just waiting for his furever home!! We are now accepting applications online at www.lostangelsanimalrescue.org or for questions please email lostangelsanimalrescuefl@gmail.com. Adoption Donation: $150 A healthy pet is a happy pet! Posted Breed: Plott Hound / Mixed (short coat). Please contact Christine (cgilcher@tampabay.rr.com) for more information about this pet. My name is Bella, I am a sweet, loving girl and this is my story. I was wandering the streets alone, scared and hungry when I was hit by an SUV. A very kind lady happened to be driving by on her way to work and saw me laying under a car and she thought that I was dead. The lady took interest in finding out what had become of me, whether I survived or not and where I ended up. After calling many places she finally tracked me down at animal services. Miraculously I survived being hit by the SUV with only a few minor abrasions. However, my days were numbered at animal services as I was put on their list to be euthanized so she tried to find a place for me to go where I would be safe. She found a loving foster home and I made it out of there alive. I am one of the lucky ones. I currently live with several dogs at my foster home and I get along with all dogs very well. I am about 3 yrs old, still very much a puppy and I love to play all the time. I also have some puppy behaviors, but eventually I'll outgrow them. I love getting lots of attention from my foster parents and I hope to find a forever home where I will get tons of love and attention every day. I am looking for a family who understands puppy behaviors and who will love and cherish me forever, I love to give kisses and promise to snuggle with you. I am up to date on my shots, spayed, micro chipped and heart worm & fecal negative. If you would like to learn more about me, please call my foster parents at (813) 966-5830. Khalifa is a 3 yr old male Bull Terrier that weighs approx. 52 lbs. He found himself in a high kill shelter and time had just about run out for him. This breed is known to be fun-loving, comical, courageous, scrappy and active. They enjoy being around people but are not recommended for an inexperienced dog owner or a household with small children. They have a naturally strong prey instinct and are not good with cats and great care should be shown with other dogs. To help Khalifa be the best dog he can be, we have had him fully obeidence trained by a local training facility where he will reside until adopted. His training is for "life of dog" included in his adoption fee. His new owner must live in or near the Tampa area as a series of private training classes will be required prior to final adoption. He has been neutered, all vaccines current including Rabies and Bordetella, wormed for intestinal parasites, heartworm tested (pos) and micro chipped. He has been started on a monthly dose of Heartgard Plus used as a slow-kill method and a flea preventative. His adoption comes with one free vet visit to a participating LAAR veterinarian. I even live with two Chihuahuas. I just leave them alone though as they are kind of cranky. I am loving dog and want to please my master. I am very smart but can be stubborn. I am very excited when I meet new people. I need to meet new dogs slowly. It takes me time to get used to them.
