The Miniature Schnauzer, a robust and charming small dog, originated in Germany as a rat catcher and barn dog, primarily developed from the Standard Schnauzer and other smaller breeds. Weighing typically between 11-20 pounds, they possess an intelligent, alert, and often feisty temperament.
