Litter Description
At 5 Dubs Farms we’re a family-run, home-based breeder dedicated to raising healthy, affectionate Cavalier King Charles Spaniel companions. Our dogs are beloved family pets — not kennel stock — and every puppy is born and raised in our home alongside Ailah (18 lbs) and Mr. Odie (11 lbs). Because the parents live onsite, pups grow up cuddled, handled, and comfortable with real family life from day one. Ailah is a devoted, gentle mom; Mr. Odie is our on-site dad and cherished family pet. After a year-long search we chose Odie for his small size (to make pregnancies easier for Ailah), calm temperament, and proven generational health records. Together they consistently produce small, calm puppies with outstanding temperaments and tracked genetics. Health, temperament, and training guide every decision we make. We maintain multigenerational health records, prioritize clearances, and make thoughtful pairings to produce robust, long-lived companions. Drawing on our history in dog obedience training, we begin guided training from day one—shaping calm manners, early leash work, and good household habits. From birth our pups receive consistent, hands-on care: daily handling, home socialization, early leash and potty training, regular car-ride exposure so they’re travel-ready, and nighttime-only crate training so they’re comfortable sleeping in a crate without whimpering. We never allow laying or walking in soiled areas to prevent bad habits. The result is well-started puppies with calm manners and great beginnings for family life. Choose 5 Dubs Farms for a healthy, well-socialized Cavalier raised with love, proven genetics, and professional training insight. Overview:
The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is an enchanting toy breed with a rich history, originating from the spaniels depicted in paintings of the 16th to 18th centuries and popularized by King Charles II. They are characterized by their gentle, affectionate temperament, making them exceptional companions. Physically, Cavaliers are small yet sturdy, typically weighing between 13-18 pounds, with a silky, medium-length coat that comes in various color patterns including Blenheim (chestnut and white), tricolor, black and tan, and ruby. Their signature features include a slightly domed head, large expressive eyes, and long feathered ears. Cavaliers are known for being adaptable and eager to please, thriving in both family environments and apartment living due to their moderate exercise needs and loving nature. They generally get along well with children and other pets, fitting seamlessly into most households. However, prospective owners should be aware of certain breed-specific health concerns, such as heart conditions (mitral valve disease) and syringomyelia, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
