These impressive dogs are known for their immense size and powerful build, typically featuring a thick, weather-resistant double coat that can be long or medium in length, and come in various colors. Temperament-wise, they are fiercely loyal and protective of their families, displaying natural guarding instincts. While generally calm and confident, their independence and strong will necessitate experienced owners who can provide consistent training and socialization from a young age. Due to their formidable size and territorial nature, they are generally not suitable for apartment living and thrive in homes with ample secure outdoor space.
