Loyal, intelligent, protective, rugged, yet playful. These are the traits of Akbash, one of the best livestock guardian dogs in the world. Akbash is a white dog closely related to Great Pyrenees, Anatolian and Kangal. Yet Akbash is especially suited in southwest US as their short hair makes them more heat tolerant in our summer. Mom and dad are a part of our family, and they both grew up on our family farm, protecting our chickens, ducks and goats against intruding animals such as foxes and skunks. Under their watch, we rarely lost any chickens to predators. They also chase away pesky and destructive ground squirrels. Mom and dad come from two different regions, totally unrelated to each other. Although fierce with predators, they are extremely gentle with all kids. Neighbors kids sometimes hop the fence to come play with them and they are completely submissive. They are perfect guardian dogs for your property even if you don't have livestock or poultry. Pups were born on June 2 and ready for new home in a couple of weeks. They will come with their first set of shots and de-worming. We are taking deposits at this point ($100), and you can come to take your pick, in the order when deposits are made, when they are ready to go starting July 27. For the safety of the puppies, we do not want people to get close to them at this point.
