Litter Description
Akbash Dog Litter of Puppies For Sale in WEATHERFORD, TX, USA
The Akbash, also called the Coban Kopegi, the Akbas, or Aky, is an ancient large to giant dog breed from Turkey dating back from 3,000 years ago as a livestock-guarding dog. It was brought to North America in 1970.
Flock guardians are designed to bond with their home flocks (the flock can be anything from goats or sheep to children). If raised with children or other pets, they will be very protective. They are very aware of their surroundings and have acute hearing and eyesight. Many of these dogs work both as livestock guardians in the United States and elsewhere, and also as assistance and service dogs.
On our place they have been exposed to mini donkeys, dogs, cats and young children. They are very docile until they feel a need to react. Our adult Akbashes have cornered wild hogs and have treed a bobcat. They alert us when someone drives up and strangers are hesitant to get out with them barking at their door. They also love keeping our varmint count down. The puppies are full-blood; dad is registered moms are not. This breed has not disappointed us. They were born May 24th and May 27th and are ready for their forever homes.
