These dogs are utility animals, and can be used for a variety of things. They can guard livestock, guard property, and protect people! They have an incredible intelligence and guardian instinct, and could be trained to do anything from shed hunting to bite work. These dogs need people who understand pack leader mentality, although they are definitely capable of being family companions, they need people who will train them to understand their place in the home. If they are working dogs and family companions, they need people who will train them when to work and when to shut it off. These pups will grow up to match your energy, if you are very active and on the go, they will go with you! You can hike ten miles with them one day and lay around on the couch the next and they will oblige.
