Posted Breed: Great Dane / Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Nellie is a sweetheart looking for a laid back forever home! She is a 6 year old Dane mix - gentle and sweet! As with most large breeds, anxiety comes with the package and she has anxiety being in the noisy and busy shelter environment - she would benefit from being in a home as soon as possible. She's uncomfortable around some dogs and we're not sure about cats. But she definitely loves her humans and strives for every bit of affection and touch - when standing she'll lean into you as far as she can, when sitting she'll get as close to you as possible and enjoy every belly rub you provide. She's a big lovebug who would be happy to be a lapdog if you'll let her! She knows some basic commands and she's an angel on a leash. Nellie is looking for a home with lots of love, calm and consistency where she can learn to trust her environment and her humans, get into a routine so she can relax and let her personality shine. Someone with large breed experience would be beneficial for this beauty but not necessary. Fill out an app and come meet Nellie soon - both she and you will fall in love! All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (if over 2 years old), vaccinated, dewormed, flea and tick treated, microchipped and more before adoption. Our adoption policies include: Application, Vet Reference, Landlord approval & Criminal Background Check. We do not do same day adoptions. We request that you call for an appointment after your application has been approved to come and visit the dog of your choice. If you have a dog currently, you should bring him/her along to meet the new dog so we can see how everyone interacts. Please visit our website for additional information.
