Posted Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Our miracle girl Aspen is an amazing example of dogs, and pitties especially, will to live! We were contacted by a friend of the rescue who mentioned there were two female puppies living in a basement with their mom. The “owners” claimed they didn’t even know the female was pregnant and they didn’t want the puppies. When we got there we were told the one female puppy was given away, but we could have the last one. We SNAGED her up right away. She was lethargic and slow. We quickly realized there was something going on. She was young but should have been able to stand. She wasn’t able to. At worst we feared it was Distemper but thankful it was not. It appears she has some type of neurological disorder. It may be hypomyelination but she as an official neuro consult in March 2024! The good news is she is getting stronger and more active each day. She is hopping and jumping towards her foster mom and getting better and putting weight on her legs! She wont give up and we wont give up on her!
