Posted Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed. Gus’ story continues to ring true the saying that ‘one man’s trash is another man’s treasure’— and we think it’s about time a special pup like this got his forever home. From his foster moms: Gus was a stray when we found him in November 2023. He was 35 lbs, completely emaciated, covered in dirt and blood, and left on a street corner in Brooklyn to fend for himself. Over the past few months we have been on a total journey with Gus. He took his first bath, got vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. We crate trained him, house trained him, and have been working with a trainer through RC to establish ground rules and boundaries. Gus learns so quickly when he is given the right tools. He is great with other dogs, is curious and sweet and energetic. He is still such a puppy and has such enthusiasm for life, walks, toys, treats, and all the best dog things. He plays well with our dog Ollie, follows us around the house, cuddles with us on the couch, and always wants to be near us. His journey and ability to adapt and learn though everything, despite where he started from and with an unknown background is really great. We are so proud of him! 10 Month Old Gus will be the absolute best friend to anyone, he’s still a young dog with so much to learn who will only continue improving on certain skills in the right fit home— a huge thanks to Kimberlee at clarity.k9 for working with Gus, his adopters will also get 1 free training sessions with his adoption! He’s also now a healthy 50lbs! Anyone who is looking for a loyal, playful, loving dog that they can really invest into and get all of that love back will be the perfect fit for Gus.
