Posted Breed: Australian Kelpie / Shepherd. THANK YOU for wanting a RESCUED DOG/PUP!!!! THEIR LIVES DEPEND ON IT!!! .yourtxrescueconnection Brave is a happy boy that absolutely loves his people. He is 50 lbs of cuddle bug. Brave is very smart with a medium energy level. He will need some exercise, but definitely can chill on the couch and just be. He loves walks and gets excited when his foster parents get his foster siblings ready to go. He learned sit in two tries and learned down the first try. He knows the command crate. First foster family's 8 year old daughter was teaching him stay and come and he was doing great. He has been known to destroy his blanket in his crate, but he is crate trained and potty trained and knows how to use a doggy door. He hasn't been destructive indoors, but did destroyed a couple of outdoor rugs. When confronted, he smiled nervously showing his teeth and with his eyes closed. Just super cute! Very dog friendly and kid friendly. We do not know about cats, but he can be tested before adoption. Brave was pulled by one of our fosters from a high kill animal control facility very scared and unsure. With patience, love, and time to allow him to decompress and know he was safe, Brave blossomed and was much loved by his foster family, but was wary of strangers. He was brought into the home base ranch and learned that new people can be lots of fun and bring all kinds of treats :) Now Brave has transitioned to another foster family who love him and are working with him to be his best self- and he IS!!! Brave can be a bit of a jellybean with other dogs because he is an attention hog. He likes to rough house, play with plushies (eventually de-stuffing them), and belly rubs. At dinner time, Brave is not a beggar. You will usually find him on a doggy bed or under the table sleeping. Brave is super curious. He will look around the corner to see what you are doing. He uses his front paws to play a lot. When he is happy, he does a trotting type dance with his front paws and Brave is happiest seeing his people. Make this boy the happiest he can be by applying to adopt him!
