Description
Posted Breed: Chihuahua / Mixed. Holiday Cookie family. Oreo (mom) 2 pups Ginger Snap and Chocolate Chip and two other of their family Sugar Cookie and Snicker Doodle were all abandoned at a distant shelter when their previous elder guardian had health issues and had to move to a facility. They were all nervous but Oreo pups and Sugar Cookie warmed up the fastest. Snicker Doodle is more timid and needs more time to adjust to feel safe. All are very sweet and once comfortable they are friendly and enjoy attention. Shelter told us the pups were 4-5 weeks old but our vet aged them at 8 weeks based on their teeth but they are tiny. They had all their vet care vaccinations and now relaxing and learning at their volunteer foster homes. New photos and more info on Oreo to come as the foster home gets to know her. 12/19/23 Update: Oreo is lovely! She is calm quiet and loves to sit on our lap and nap while we watch TV. She does fine in her pen when we leave for a few hours and sleeps in her crate at night. We even went in the spa for a few hours a few nights ago and she sat on the bench right next to us the whole time on our towels and never made a peep. She will bark when she hears other dogs barking outside but other than that she is very calm quiet and sweet. She loves to be in our backyard on warm days and lounge and soak up the sun. She has been a little nervous around other dogs because of her puppies probably but warms up eventually as long as the other dogs are calm.
