    Cash

    Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). Cash 4 year old male Pitbull Good with dogs Good with cats Good with kids Fostered in Spirit Lake, ID Hello kind people. My name is Cash. I'm supposed to tell you a bit of my story, so here goes! I was dropped off at the shelter by some people who claimed to have found me and my brother. They didn't fool anyone though. The shelter staff immediately knew better. They said we were strays, so off we went to sit in the shelter during our stray hold. The first thing that the shelter noticed was how awful my ears were. They were basically cauliflower ears and full of what they thought was blood. Finally, my time came and Power of the Paw looked right past my medical needs and my breed and I was soon on my way to my new life. Upon an exam, they thought they may have to crop my ears in order to fix them as there was no way you could even get to my ear canal. However, the vet gave my ears a chance and during my neuter, they cleaned them and packed them with antibiotics. Well guess what?! My ears may not be perfect but they have healed well and I have been cleared for adoption. This makes my foster mom very sad as she loves me so much and has even contemplated keeping me. But she has so many dogs, and she says I deserve to have my own family who can give me more love and attention. You see, I LOVE to cuddle and will do it for hours. It doesn't matter if I'm hot, I'll cuddle until the cows come home! I also ride well in the car, am crate trained, house trained and I even like to snuggle the cats. I get along well with dogs but I don't want them near my bones and if they start playing too rough, I get defensive. So one dog or multiple calm dogs might be best. I also love the kid here. I might like to have my own kid. My ears won't take much more care. I will need regular cleanings. The reason my ears are the way they are is because I have severe allergies. Because of this, I need a salmon based, grain free food to keep the infections under control and to stop my itching! I'm truly a gem and foster mom is heartbroken to see me go. If you are ready for fun, cuddles and lots of laughter, go to www.powerofthepaw.org and fill out an adoption application! ADOPTION FEE: $200 includes neuter, DAPP, Rabies, Bordetella, microchip, deworm and flea treatment.

    Sokka

    Breed: Border Collie-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Senior
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Newfoundland Dog / Border Collie / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 75. FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Sokka is a 9 year old Newfoundland/Border Collie mix who came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue when his family lost their home. This boy is so sweet, loving and gentle; he has been a dream dog while in our care but now it’s time to find him a new home of his very own. This handsome lug is great with people and good with kids over 5; he’s spent his life being the best buddy to his humans. He has amazing house manners and is easy to live with. He likes to be pet, spend time with you but isn’t “in your face” about it. Sokka was not socialized with other animals so he is a bit usnure when he meets other dogs but within 24 hours he and the other dogs in his foster home became the best of friends and spend hours playing in the backyard. We do know that he will need a cat free home and think he would do better as either the only dog or with another dog that is 40 pounds or over. Sokka is almost 90 pounds – well a little lighter at the moment since he has been shaved; so he need another dog that can play with him. He is house trained, crate trained and knows a few basics; he is pretty quiet though he will once in a while bark at other dogs on the other side of the fence. Sokka hasn’t quite mastered walking on a leash. He doesn’t pull your arm off just a curious sniffer, and walks in front of you, and all around you to explore. Sokka does have an allergy to beef and is currently on a food that doesn’t contain any and is doing great. He LOVES to go for a walk and will need at least one a day; he is in great health and walks will help keep him that way. Sokka is really just a sweet dog who needs a fairly active family; if that’s you fill out an application today! Application: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ Sokka is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped Sokka’s adoption fee is $75

    Marie

    rescue
Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier-Labrador Retriever Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 75. FOSTER LOCATION: Kuna, ID Marie is a two-year-old Lab/Pit mix who first arrived in Idaho last October as part of a transfer of dogs to the Idaho Humane Society from a shelter in Texas. She was adopted in January by a wonderful man who understood Marie was a little nervous and insecure and tried very hard to give her time and space to become familiar with and comfortable in his home. Unfortunately, despite two months of his best efforts, Marie remained afraid of her new guardian, so he contacted Fuzzy Pawz for help in finding her a forever home where she could thrive. While she’s been in foster, Marie has taught us several things about herself. First, she gets A LOT of confidence and comfort from having other dogs around, so any potential adopters must have at least one other confident, engaging dog. (Marie has been living with four dogs of varying sizes and energy levels, and honestly seems to love every dog she meets!) Marie’s former guardian didn’t have other pets and found it very difficult to take Marie on walks or generally leave the house, but if there’s another dog there she is much more willing to explore and cooperate. Second, Marie is more comfortable with women – she bonded to her current foster mom fast and hard. For this reason, potential adopters must have at least one adult female in the house – this is sort of a security blanket for Marie. Third, Marie badly wants to trust and love at least some men. While she never grew acclimated to her prior guardian, she did like his father, and in her current foster home Marie has shown strong interest in the adult male. Potential adopters need to understand that Marie will likely not be as initially trusting of or confident with men, and that it could take many months before she fully “accepts” a new man in her life. They need to be willing to be patient, go at Marie’s pace, and not become frustrated or take it personally if Marie exhibits behavior such as barking at them. Although Marie’s activity level was non-stop her first few days in foster, once she got comfortable she calmed down and now has a deep appreciation for naps and snuggles on the couch with her foster mom and foster brother pups (and sometimes foster dad too!). However, Marie also still has plenty of puppy in her and enjoys playing with other dogs outside, wrestling on the couch, and checking out toys! Marie is potty trained and crate trained – using a crate in her forever home will be important, as it gives Marie a safe place to which she can retreat if she’s feeling uncomfortable or overwhelmed. In her foster home, Marie has been sleeping in her crate every night but hasn’t chosen to hang out there otherwise. She also tolerates it well if she needs to be left for a few hours, but in her prior home she did begin chewing on the crate so she shouldn’t be left for extended periods or put in the crate without first having an opportunity to burn off some energy. Marie has learned “sit” and has shown she is a fast learner who’s eager to please. She hasn’t had much experience going out on walks – in her prior home walks were never successful and frequently required “rescue” from a neighbor with a dog – walks with a trusted human and a dog buddy will be important for Marie as she learns to navigate the world. If you are looking for a new amazing friend and you can give her a bit of time, patience and an infinite amount of love then Marie is your girl. We’d love to talk to you about her just fill out an application: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ Marie is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped Marie’s adoption fee is $75

    Maxy

    Breed: Maltipoo
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Maltese / Poodle (Miniature) / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 300. FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Maxy came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue when his person realized she’d made a mistake when she bought littermates. As so often happens she had a bad case of Litter Mate Syndrome on her hands. This makes training very difficult and as the pair got older they began to fight (this is very common). Maxy’s owner came to a painful decision that in order for both dogs to be their best selves they needed to be separated so Fuzzy Pawz agreed to find Maxy a new home where he could grow and thrive! At 11 months old this Maltese/Poodle mix is a lot of fun and loves to go for walks and play with his dog friends. He has plenty of energy so an active home is best. He loves exploring in the yard and cuddling up to his people when he’s all played out. He has lived with cats and is pretty good although he will try to play with them. He enjoys meeting new people and has an outgoing personality that will warm your heart. He knows several basic commands but positive training will be fun for both him and his new owner. He needs a little work on house training, but he is 90% there and with a schedule, structure and a wee bit of patience he will be 100% in no time. He would love to attend a positive rewards puppy class! Because of his small size he needs to go to a home with older kids or no kids so he doesn’t get trampled or hurt. Maxy is fairly vocal so a home that understands small breeds with big voices is a must. Can you offer this sweet boy a loving home to grow and learn in if so fill out an application today! Application: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ Maxy is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped Maxy’s adoption fee is $300

    Breed: Unknown Mix
    Sex: Male Male

    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Husky (medium coat). Rex 2 years old Husky Good with dogs with proper intros No cats Good with older kids Fostered in Spirit Lake, ID Calling all husky fans. No, I don't mean the Washington Huskies (shhh.... I'm a WSU fan). My name is Rex and I am a 2 year old husky who is very typical.... well... husky. I came to Power of the Paw after being picked up as a stray AGAIN and still had an untreated skin disease. SCRAPS finally turned me over to a rescue, so here I am! The skin condition? It was just a zinc deficiency. I have to take a super yummy tablet once a day. It has made a huge difference in my skin. High quality food helps too! I have met many dogs here, but I can be a bossy lil’ stinker sometimes, so slow introductions would probably be best for me. My foster mom is still deciding on whether I like females or males best. I haven't been introduced to the cats, but being a husky, I think the safest bet is that I don't go to a home with cats. As for the little humans, I'm super friendly, but I'm super mouthy (also husky behavior) and I will need some training in order to break the puppy habits. For a husky, I am affectionate and I think I could really learn to bond with someone special. I have such a fun, active personality. I love going on walks and hiking. It's literally my favorite thing to do. I'm smaller than most Huskies so I'm compact and can go lots of places with you. And here's something insane.... I don't shed much. If you are looking for a fun, active, happy dog to complete your life, I am definitely the guy for you. My special needs are cheap and easy and boy, I can help you get out and get active! Head on over to www.powerofthepaw.org and fill out the adoption application for me! ADOPTION FEE: $200 includes neuter, DAPP, Rabies, Bordetella, microchip, revolution, zinc vitamins, bloodwork, skin biopsies and a vet check.

Posted Breed: Shih Tzu / Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 100. FOSTER LOCATION: Nampa, ID Like candy? We do; nothing better than a sweet treat to make your day. How about having candy every day without cheating on your diet? Meet Candi! A sweet and loveable 4 year old Shih Tzu Mix who came to Fuzzy Pawz from a local shelter due to her having some pretty severe allergies. This girl is lots of fun; she loves to play with her toys and will play fetch with you forever. Spending time with you however is her very favorite thing! Play time, cuddle time and walks make her a happy girl. She loves people so much she can be a bit pushy about spending time with her humans. Candi is very active and will need people who can give her a good balance of play, exercise and cuddle time. She gets along with cats great; she will rub up against them and wants to be their best friend. However Candi is not such a fan of other dogs and will need a dog free home. House trained, crate trained and uses a dog door like a champ; Candi is one smart girl and is eager to learn whatever you want to teach her. While good in her crate she does prefer to sleep on the bed with you if you’ll let her. She is okay on leash but can get vocal and pull when she sees another dog; she is working on this behavior and is doing much better. Candi will need a high quality grain-free/limited ingrediant food and is currently taking Benadryl for her allergies. She may have a flare up at certain times of the year and need to go on something stronger like Apoquel. If you can offer Candi a fun filled life please complete an adoption application today: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ Candi is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped Candi’s adoption fee is $100

    Bindy

    rescue
    Breed: Chihuahua-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 75. FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Bindy is a super smart, cute little pup with a lot of potential. Unfortunately she had some rough times early on and/or was mistreated which has made her timid of people. After a month at her Fuzzy Pawz foster home, Bindy has come a long way. However, she is still leery when her foster mom (or others) approach her and prefers to initiate contact on her own terms. Bindy does love to cuddle and seems to enjoy affection once she calms down and realizes she is safe; really once you have your hand on her she is the biggest cuddle bug. The best thing for Bindy now is to find her forever home so she can start to build long-term trust and know she is a loved member of the family at only about 2 year old she has lots of time to learn to trust. Bindy's forever family should be prepared to be very patient and consistent, especially with training. Bindy is not treat motivated, and she's generally scared of humans. Thus training could be challenging and may require creative techniques and/or professional assistance (Fuzzy Pawz can hook you up with their positive rewards trainer). Bindy does love to play with other pups and has learned a lot from mimicking and following her foster sister. We will require that Bindy’s new home have another confident, active and playful pup. She loves to wrestle with the other dogs in the home, and they spend most of their days chasing each other, going in and out and in and out of the dog door, and patrolling the yard for trespassing squirrels. As noted earlier, Bindy is quite smart. When she is scared or nervous, Bindy's instinct is flee, and she's capable of climbing and maneuvering impressive escapes. Bindy's forever home will need a very secure yard, and she'll need to be closely supervised (and on leash) until she settles in. She will need a kid free and cat free home. Despite the cautionary tales, Bindy can be quite sweet, and it's heartwarming to see her start to come out of her shell. She is cute as can be and will be a wonderful companion once she gets past her fear. It's just a matter of finding the right fit! If you can offer Bindy a kind, loving and patient home please complete an adoption application today: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ Bindy is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped Bindys’s adoption fee is $75
