Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog. DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting. ***** Odin is a King Shepherd, is 2yo, weighs 120lbs, is neutered, is up to date on his vaccines, and is microchipped. Odin is a sweet dog, has attendance obedience classes, is an excellent walker, does very well in the car and is crate-trained. Odin's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome him: "Odin is a sweet dog to adults but doesn't get along with kids or other animals (we happen to have both). Because of this, we have to keep them separate and we want to see Odin have a better quality of life." BITE INCIDENT: In February 2023, Odin bit his paternal guardian; the bite broke the skin, medical attention was not required, and animal control was not involved. Odin's guardian explains: "Odin was trying to attack our cat and when my husband intervened he was also bitten on the arm and was able to use a band-aid. We now keep them separate and have had no issues since." Odin's guardian states the following regarding children: Odin lives with an 11yo child, but his guardian doesn't recommend his living with kids, stating "Odin is very excited to see people, but we keep him separate from kids". Odin's guardian states the following regarding dogs: Odin doesn't live with dogs, so his guardian doesn't recommend his living with dogs, stating "He is very playful but has some protective tendencies around his objects, so he would be better in a home without other animals". Odin's guardian states the following regarding cats: Odin lives with a cat, so his guardian doesn't recommend his living with cats, stating "Prey drive". Odin's guardian describes him as: Playful Friendly Affectionate Protective Indoor dog Crate-Trained Odin's guardian describes his ideal future home: "Ideally, Odin would go to am adult-only home with no other pets. He is very sweet as long as situations which make him defensive are avoided. He would be on a leash or in a fenced yare."
