Posted Breed: Siberian Husky / German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Major! Major came to the Shelter as an owner surrender after his previous guardian was unable to continue caring for him. Major is an adolescent shepherd/husky mix who has an adorable Anatolian curly tail. He has a history of being sweet and social with strangers – wagging his tail, approaching and soliciting attention. At the Shelter, Major has been a bit worried so it has taken him a bit longer to warm up to staff and volunteers. Major does not have any history living with kids but does have history living with other dogs. He has met dogs at the Shelter and is curious about them but still a bit unsure. A home with another dog savvy dog is likely a fit but any resident dogs should meet at the Shelter prior to adoption. We do not have any history of Major with cats or small animals. Due to Major’s currently nervous nature, adopters should anticipate a slow, thoughtful transition into the home to help set him up for success. Walks through the woods, positive reinforcement based training to bond, and a quiet environment will help Major slowly acclimate in his new home.
