Irish Setter / Golden Retriever (aka, Irish Goldens) for sale. Please text me at 262-573-0729 to get our conversation started. 3 girls, 2 boys left, $1,000 for females, $900 for males, $200 non-refundable deposit. Must be picked up onsite (Tempe, AZ). I've one of the pups (Penney) from the last litter from a breeder in Wisconsin, she's 19 months now. In April of this year, I acquired Mom (Golden Retriever) and Dad (Irish Setter from my breeder, and ended up having an 'oops' litter :) The puppies were born June 12, so will be ready to go soon - I'll have their shots and deworming complete before pickup. The puppies are likely all to be a bit darker than Mom, and (except for one crybaby) are astonishingly quiet and mild-mannered. They’re loving the attention from the neighbors, and even though they’re already quiet, they get quieter still when snuggled, and just dive right in. Thus far, they’ve all good dispositions, none are obnoxious or destructive, and while some are quieter and aggressive than others, there are no standout alpha or runt puppies. Maybe the best way to describe the litter is to describe Penney, from their last litter. Penney is probably the best or 2nd best pup I've ever had, and at the time, I was looking across the country specifically for an Irish Golden puppy. Because of having just getting her parents, I can say for a fact she is a combination of each parent's best traits. She's slightly darker than Mom, and more or less has her coat, and has the musculature and skeletal of Dad, although is slightly heavier. For example, Penney has Mom's eyes and Dad's eye sockets; it’s truly amazing to see the subtleties of what physical or disposition trait came from which parent, and while I never confuse Mom w Dad, in low light I often confuse Penney with her parents and vice versa. Like Dad, she’s quiet and laid back inside, likes to be held, even on her back, and competes with Dad with who lies on top of me while watchin Netflix.

RubyToo has a splash of white on her chest, plays well with her siblings and loves to be held. When she was on a play date at the neighbors, they named her Ruby (along w Chief and Cinnamon), but since I already had a Ruby, she became RubyToo. She is a fun-loving puppy but also pretty calm after playtime winds down, she has a great disposition and is even gentle at times. Like everyone else, she just loves being cradled and getting her belly rubbed, and will be a good addition to her new family. She also is very aware of her cuteness, and uses that to her advantage if she does anything slightly naught, a trait she definitely got from her father. She loves exploring new surroundings, and has to check everything out to make sure....of whatever puppies need to be sure about. RubyToo plays with her siblings really well, and her gentleness shines when anyone yelps if play gets a little out of hand, even if someone else is a little too rough on another.

Dad, named Brick, is my first Irish Setter, although I've wanted one for years; incidentally, he's also my first male dog. He's more a field-looking boy, not the afghan, showie-looking IR, but I gotta say, I think he's the most beautiful dog I've ever had. He's surprisingly compact, around the low-40lbs, and we bonded hard, really fast. So much so, that Penney, the last-gen pup, stopped taking me for granted! Inside, he's super laid back and affectionate, also quiet; outside at the desert parks, he's a high-energy machine, and definitely has the instinct to hunt. Brick’s made big strides at his off-leash trustworthiness, but we’re still working on it. He’s indifferent to people and other dogs, and at the dog park is more often than not off doing his own thing, making sure to check in with me now and then. I got him for his looks and I liked his aloof disposition, but I never imagined how hard we’d bond. He’s one of the biggest lover dogs I’ve ever had. There’s a lot of him in
Mother
Mom (coincidentally, named Penny like her daughter) is almost as red as the field line GR and is around 50lbs, your typical goldie - needy, affectionate, pretty quiet and laid back, doesn't bark, moderate hunter - although, granted, she just had a litter. The mom is my eighth PB GR since I was 5yrs old, and she’s nearly 5yrs old; according to my breeder, this litter was her sixth, and she provided Penny’s AKC papers. At the moment, she’s still a little tire and slow, understandable, since she’s still letting the puppies nurse even though they’re on kibble puppy food, but when she has the opportunity to chase a cat or stalk a bird, she’s on it. She’s trustworthy off leash and doesn’t let me out of her sight, traits passed on to her daughter. Her color is lighter than a field-line Golden – that is, darker red than your standard American GR, a preference of mine as it happens.
