UPDATE: 4-20-2020 We still have two puppies and are waiting until after their vet check 4-24-2020 to make final arrangements for adoption. They are due and want to make sure they are current. Getting them in right now has been a challenge. We're covered up with requests right now and are sorry our slow response to all the inquires. Sheba's puppies were born outdoors on a cold starry night 2/15/2020. They have been raised outdoors on their livestock guardian mother's milk and lots of love from their human family. They are bred to protect and not attack and are kid and livestock friendly. Being Great Pyrenees, all the puppies follow their sire and dam’s breed conformity with their signature double dew claw, all white body with two of the litter having black or badger face markings. The sire, Henry’s main job is to guard our miniature horse which also shares the same space with the puppies. Free range chickens are also on the property and the dogs know they are part of the farm animals they protect. Although raised outdoors to be livestock guardian dogs, they can also serve as human companions. The large size and thick coat makes this breed well suited for being outdoors in all weather, even in the Carolina summers in the 90’s as long as they have access to shade and water. Many people do keep them indoors. Although we think they would be best suited to outdoor life guarding livestock, chickens, other pets or family members, keeping them outdoors is not a requirement for purchase. They will guard if kept outdoors at night, which for this breed, involves barking to warn predators not to approach.

Father
Henry is a Great Pyrenees and is a gentle giant. His closest companion is the miniature horse he protects day and night. He now also protects the puppies when their mother is taking a break. It is not uncommon to see him playing with the puppies. Henry is shy toward visitors, but does not bark at visitors to our farm while we are present, but will readily defend against predators.
Mother
Sheba is a Great Pyrenees and is very gentle and compliant. She can readily sense what you want from her and is ready to assist. She distinguishes well between predators or threats while not barking at visitors to our farm and allowing them to pet her as long as we are present. She is a vigilant guardian and will not sleep when she senses there is a threat.
