Description
Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 300. Please contact HP for more information about this pet. Thanks for your interest in a pet from A.R.F.! If you see a pet here, they are still available for adoption and you should apply through our adoption application on our website at .arf-il/adopt/application/ Meet Tundra, a 4 year old Great Pyrenees mix big boy who wants to be your companion but is also an independent thinker! Tundra was originally adopted from ARF a few years ago. Unfortunately, his mom has developed personal issues that make it difficult for her to continue to care for him. Tundra considers himself a lady's man, aka, he prefers women. It takes him a good amount of time to warm up to new humans, but once he does, he is very affectionate. He also likes to go adventuring and looking for ladies of his own species, so a fenced in yard is required. He loves to spend time outdoors and loves running around! Tundra is a smart guy. He can sit, lay down, shake, and hug. He is very food motivated, which helps with training. He tends to pull when on a leash, and could use additional training in this area. Tundra does not do well with cats or children. He does well with other dogs, except when it comes to things he values, such as food, treats, toys and his human. Given his tendencies for resource guarding, Tundra is looking for a human who understands dog behavior and can anticipate potential issues and help Tundra work around them. If there are other dogs in the home, Tundra's human will need to keep a watchful eye when treats and food are involved. Tundra loves going to the dog park with close supervision from his human. Overall, Tundra is very protective and funny and loving! He just needs someone who is willing to work through his quirks and love him unconditionally. Tundra is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and neutered. His new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing. Tundra's adoption fee is $300. A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you're interested in adopting Tundra fill out an Online Application today! Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting. Thank you for considering a rescue pet from A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation! We are based in Wheaton, IL and conduct adoption events in the DuPage County area. If you are interested in adopting one of our pets, please submit an adoption application at .arf-il/adopt/application/ Adoption appointments are scheduled based on the order of applications received, so submit your application early! Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions or schedule meetings until your application has been approved. More information about our adoption process can be found on our website here: .arf-il/adopt/ As an all-volunteer, foster home-based organization, A.R.F. Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals. Please visit .arf-il/events/ for a list of our upcoming adoption events. Thank you for choosing to adopt, not shop!
