Dog's Name: LITTLE BIT Estimated Breed : Chihuahua and Jack Russell Terrier mix Approximate Age: 3-5 years Approximate Weight: approx. 9 lbs Currently Living at: Foster Adoption Fee: $325 DOG'S DESCRIPTION Meet Little Bit! He is timid in new situations, but learns quickly and is coming out of his shell in foster care. He’d love to find a patient adopter who will give him the time and attention he needs to build his confidence and trust. Little Bit must be in a home with a fenced backyard since he does not walk on a leash. No apartments, city living as we just don't think he will thrive. He likes it quiet and calm in the home, but he's a spunky little guy when out playing with his foster friends. BUT, if you have another doggie friend, he loves a companion. Little Bit came from a home with other JRT/Chi mixes so he's very used to sharing with other doggos. If you are ready for some extra love in your life, Little Bit is ready and waiting to meet you! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.
