Posted Breed: Unknown breed (medium coat). Meet Milo! Sweet little Milo came to us with a few of his siblings after being found abandoned. They have all been settling into their foster home and are thriving. These pups are just the cutest little munchkins. We're not sure of their breed mix, but something small - perhaps Chihuahua and Terrier or perhaps some Dachshund? Who knows but it is a whole lot of cuteness. The pups have received their first vaccination and are scheduled for their boosters and another wellness check on February 10th. After that they are ready to go to their forever homes. We're getting a head start on making them available for adoption and applicants are welcome to meet them, even if they can't go home until 2/10. Puppies are hard work! They need training, socialization, chew on your stuff and don't sleep through the night. If you are ready for the hard work to help these pups grow into good adult canine citizens, you can submit an application via our website savinggreatanimals The pups will be vaccinated and chipped. They will be spayed/neutered at our cost between 8-12 months of age (that is part of their adoption contract). The adoption fee is $495. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. Thank you for stepping up to save a life! A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
