Posted Breed: Shepherd / Terrier / Mixed. As the days get longer and spring gets closer playful Chloe wants to find new friends and a new family for outdoor adventures and indoor snuggles. She is a one-and-a-half-year-old, 45-pound, German Shepherd mix with a big personality and plenty of energy for fun and games. Chloe was surrendered by her owner who experienced some financial difficulties. Chloe is close to full grown, and it is estimated she will be a medium sized girl (31-60 pounds). Her sparkling personality and spirit of adventure are all about exploring, playing, and loving all that life can offer her. Chloe is always happy to share her exuberance with dogs and children and she will also welcome a feline companion into her world. Chloe is working on her leash training, but she is proud of mastering her house and crate training. With a great gal like Chloe, her family will show her the rope with continuing her leash training by providing lots of daily practice. Plus it is a great opportunity to show this pretty girl to the world. Although Chloe is house trained, it is important to remember that accidents can occur while adjusting to a new home environment. Rain or shine, snow, or sun, get outside with Chloe, go for a hike, toss a ball, maybe train her to chase and return a frisbee and Chloe will live happily ever after and cherish every moment with you. The adoption fee for Chloe is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
