Posted Breed: Shepherd / Terrier / Mixed. If there is a lady luck then there is a Mr. Luck on in this case our boy Lucky. He was found as a stray and brought into rescue. His lucky streak continues as he knows he is going to find a fantastic family to call his own. As luck would have it, Lucky found himself on the next step of his journey. He is a 5 month old shepherd mix and weighs around 25 pounds. Getting bigger is not luck but rather just nature taking its course and with that in mind it is estimated that Lucky will be a large size dog when fully grown. A large size dog will be anywhere between 50 to 100 pounds. He is an energetic and playful pup that loves everything and everyone. Lucky does great with other dogs and children of all ages. He has not had the opportunity to meet a cat so it is unknown if Lucky would be accepting a feline companion. We do know that Lucky is a happy boy with lots of spunk and curiosity to carry him from one adventure to the next. There is no limit to the fun that Lucky will have with his friends. He looks forward to lots of toys, regular walks in the neighborhood and fun family trips that enjoy the outdoors. He is a fan of car rides so going to those fun family adventures will be exciting too. He is a smart fella and has mastered his house, crate and leash training. With those skills in his back pocket he is ready to move into his forever family. Although he is housetrained, it is important to remember that accidents can occur while adjusting to a new home environment. As with all puppies, Lucky is full of curiosity and wonderment, and is ready to grow from adorable puppy to an amazing dog with the right guidance and patience. He will need a home with someone who has the time, desire and energy to train and socialize him so that he can become the perfect lifelong companion. Get ready for lots of love, a bunch of fun and a lifetime of snuggles. Lucky will be the luck of his family all year long. The adoption fee for Lucky is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
