Posted Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Terrier / Mixed. Put on your dancing shoes, fire up the oldies tunes and party like it is the 1950s with Rizzo. This lovable, huggable 9-month-old Australian Cattle/Blue Heeler pup is eager to shake, rattle and roll her way into your heart. Rizzo and her siblings were rescued from a kill shelter before coming to DSR. Rizzo is a black and white member of the litter, with adorable spots. She is a sweet affectionate girl with plenty of energy and an appetite for treats and attention. She is still growing and it is estimated she will be a large-sized dog (over 50 pounds) when she is full grown. She is currently 38 pounds. Rizzo is simply fine hanging out with children and other dogs. It is not known currently if she enjoys cats. Rizzo is working on her house and crate training but is fully leash trained. She is very treat motivated, which will make consistent, positive reinforcement training successful. Rizzo is still a pup so accidents should be expected. If crate training is planned, she needs a crate that is big enough to stand and turn around in as well as lie down comfortably. Crates should be cozy, happy places for dogs to hang out. Never use a crate for punishment. Shine the spotlight on Rizzo, watch her spread her sparkling personality and high spirits everywhere she goes and get ready for plenty of fun and frolic with a girl ready for her happy ever after ending. The adoption fee for Rizzo is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
