Posted Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Adoption Fee: 250. Online Adoption Application › Junie is easy on the leash, cat friendly, dog friendly ), and good with calm, older children who will go at her pace. She is housebroken,, too. She LOVES couch snuggles and giving "hugs" She is just 1-2yrs old, heartworm negative, fully vetted including spayed, and ready to find her forever home. Junie took a long time to trust her foster mom - we don't know if she had a bad experience with humans or just not enough interaction to realize they are safe - but it took a bit of time. Her foster mom was patient and waited until she was ready. After a few weeks of sharing yummy treats and just sitting and talking while she nursed her puppies, Junie decided hey, this isn't so bad! She turned into the biggest lovebug ever - jumping for joy and all wiggles when she saw "her people". Junie is currently located in Tennessee, but we have regular transports up to Columbus, IN. All adoptions will take place at Speck's Pet Store in Columbus, IN.

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
